You can expect beautiful instrumental tunes on a variety of instruments including Celtic harp, hammered dulcimer, guitar, flute and whatever else fits in the car! They will also share vocal ballads ranging from poignant to humorous about mothers, daughters, wives and those who love them. Rumor has it, Stacy and Candy will include a few mystery guests . . . maybe even a man or two! Also expect the Oregon Wines to be flowing.
A little background on the performers: Since moving to the beautiful Oregon coast two years ago, Candace, has met a number of local musicians and performers including Stacy Rose. Together, Candace and Stacy formed the duo "Grace Notes," similar to her Wisconsin based Celtic duo "Heartwood".
In Heartwood, Candace and partner Katie Waldren performed hundreds of concerts and taught a variety of workshops at folk festivals across the country. For eleven years, she also toured with daughter Holly Brook, as the duo "Generations". . . until Holly struck out on her own and moved to LA signing with the band Linkin Park. Candace has produced 10 CDs consisting of performances by both Heartwood and Generations, the latter being recipient of the Parent's Choice Award award for family music.
Originally from the East Coast, Stacy Rose moved to North Bend area thirty years ago and liked it so well she decided to stay. A music major in college, Stacy has been a constant musical force in this area with her various flutes and hammered dulcimer. Stacy has worked as a soloist and as a member of ensembles including TAGIPUB. She currently plays with the Bumbling Buskers, a band that plays hard-driving, toe-tapping traditional, original, and contemporary songs. Stacy is also very active in calling contra dances. Who knows, maybe if enough wine has been consumed, dancing may spontaneously erupt at the Egyptian theater
